Any Visual Novel fans around?

I'm working on a Cyberpunk (very nsfw - there will be explicit scenes) and would appreciate having some followers / beta testers for quality assessment.

boosts appreciated! :blobcatmeltthumb:

@yuki sure, a big fan of cyberpunk and a good narrative.

Thanks!

So I'm writing a novel about androids, and in the beginning I happened to write a short unpublished story about a sexbot's adventures and her search for freedom (think Blade Runner meets Game of Thrones meets 50 shades of Grey). Characters are complex, some have scarring back stories (childhood traumas, regrets, issues which need closure, etc.), the world is deep and I already thought of the sci fi mechanisms for robot control (think Asimov-level hard sci fi).

There are some nice plot twists and dramatic scenes.

Recently I got acquainted with visual novels (specifically porn games πŸ˜…) and thought to myself: πŸ€” hey, why not? Let's make it an ! I mean, there's enough material in the story to make a porn version of it (it's about a sex bot, it fits just right :blobcatjustright: ), so here I am.

Still on the first stages of development (i.e. designing the main menu, learning the tools) and I expect to have the first chapter finished by end of the year, provided I get enough funding to hire an artist for the sex scenes.

I would recommend reading Skydoll. And good luck to you!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already got the whole plot thought out. I'll probably read it, but not before I finish mine (mainly to avoid any claims of plagiarism)

@yuki so, is there sth to test/assess right now or it will be there later? ^_^
At what state it is exactly?

As I understand it is not the same (at least in format) as your neo-noir novel, right?

Right now I only have a few non interactive scenes with crappy backgrounds, incomplete GUI and cookie cutter character portraits.

Basically I'm just beginning. I need at least a couple of months to have a playable demo.

That's right, the game is a sequel set in the same universe.

As an aspiring game developer, I found that having long periods of development (esp. months, it is very long on gamedev scale) before/between playtesting broader than oneself can result in a game that is hard to be understood/ enjoyed by players in hard to fix ways.

Just in case you want to have some feedback on earlier prototypes too, i can have a look.

I'm currently recruiting artists for both the character sprites and the sex scenes; unfortunately, without those I have nothing to show yet. When I get the sprites done I'll be able to work on the actual gameplay.

But I can show you a video of what I have done so far.

@yuki sure, would like to see it.

Also, I am pretty sure folks over at open.audio or newgrounds.com can sell you for-profit license on their tracks for cheap (if not already published under permissive license).
