At this point my primary online hangouts are Twitter, Mastodon, and the RPG Talk Discord. I’m pretty okay with this.

So the D&D game last night was a lot of fun. The new player fit in nicely, which wasn't unexpected but still reassuring! We're also mostly through the intro adventure for Curse of Strahd. So now onto the more open ended meat of the matter.

5e game tonight. First game with a coworker we’re bringing in too. Hopefully he’s as fun out of work as during.

When I see my doctor in August she’s gonna ask me if I’m ready to talk about going off of my anti-anxiety medication and I’m just going to laugh like a lunatic.

I picked up Outlast 1 & 2 for the #Switch. I never finished the Whistleblower and I’ve been wanting to play the sequel. I think my husband is already mad at me for it. I might jump a little easy. First person games in general, horror games double so. (I can be a pansy even in Minecraft if I’m in a deep cave system.)

Just did this as a reply elsewhere, but it bears repeating. Nothing screams “I come from privilege” quite like “Why don’t you guys just wait patiently for equality?”

As if the later has ever worked for anyone. Also as someone that recently got married and couldn’t have without folks fighting for it. You know, thanks folks that truly give a shit.

Honestly, I probably politically land somewhere in the middle. But fuck if I don't hate both sides centrism. Especially the myth that time is what causes social change, and not people pushing *constantly*. If it was still up to popular vote I probably couldn't have gotten married this year! My state made gay marriage illegal in it's fucking constitution. Don't tell me I should have patience for bigots and acting like you're being the enlightened one.

One thing I've been doing extensively on Twitter is disabling retweets on a large chunk of the folks I follow. It makes me much more manegable to read my feed. A lot of folks I follow are voracious retweeters and that just makes things to messy. Also while I might be interested in them, maybe not so much everythign they hit that button on. This isn't really an issue so much on mastodon because of CW and folks in general just being more chill?

There's probably no salvaging this at this point either. If I get a satisfaction survey for customer service, I give perfect scores because I know someone's job is on the line. I imagine a lot of folks aware of this do. Guess what, that means even as metrics they're loaded and bad. So there really is no value to the corporation here other than as a tool to harm people. I fucking hate it.

There's no nuance to how these are handled. Anything less than a perfect score is seen as lacking and an excuse for punishment. No consideration of there being room for improvement. No consideration that sometimes the customer is just a dick. No consideration of the employee as anything other than a score. It's degrading.

So this trend really pisses me off. Don't get me wrong, I actually think that feedback surveys could be a genuinely good idea. Assuming that you're concerned with developing your staff. The problem of course is that corporations simply aren't.
