Club Q Shooting

Colorado Springs PD tackled the man who stopped the Club Q shooter, handcuffed him, and locked him in a cruiser while he screamed to be let out so he could find out if his family was safe.

mastodon usage question

Is it possible to have multiple instances as a home for your account? Or is the idiom to make multiple accounts with the same name? Just wondering if there's a way to regularly scroll through different local feeds?

#yiddish #floss

Anyone aware of a free libre dictionary/word list? I am aware of some academics' old projects or things like the Groyser Verterbukh and Oyster, but I'm interested in making new tools

I am once again asking for other mutuals who would like to practice :)

oups, j'oubliais pendant toute mon introduction que je parle aussi le français.

So kind of a random question, but does anyone know of any #yiddish accounts around here? Either with Yiddish content (literature, music, et cetera) or actively tooting in Yiddish, I'd take either! Any accounts with good/interesting #Jewish content would also be very cool.

re: math, category theory, my book

Are others aware of how this boot-strapping issue is normally dealt with? It seems like you need arrows to define arrows.

math, category theory, my book

I started writing my chapter on simply defining categories, and it's really amusing to see how that's done from different perspectives.

Especially since I'm trying to introduce the topic to people with no further than a recreational interest in mathematics (and programming), I'm trying to be mindful of various epistemic commitments and what those could mean.

Saying there are two classes for a category, and instructing the reader not to stress too much on the difference between a class and a set in this context, while then introducing arrows as "having" a source and target, seems like the clearest way to begin.

I see some sources introduce functions/morphisms from arrows to objects to deal with the notion of "having", but I don't want to worry a reader about boot-strapping a theory for those functions off the bat. I'm curious about how this is done if we're treating categories as a foundation.

I'd like to find some yiddish and math focused instances, but i'm not sure where to look for a "directory" sort of thing.

"Defederate instances that platform fascists" very much includes cops.

If anybody cares, I'm writing an informal primer to proving things with category theory, aimed at programmers...

Why is it so hard to find documentation for LaTex? Where should I be looking for what I need to set for the book document class

After everything going on, guess I’m back to mastodon 😌
