So long story short, my letter of approval has been sent on to all the relevant surgeons and doctors!

I'm officially waiting to get my date for surgery, now just time to save up for expenses and travel fare!

@eclectic 'Tis the season! Got my appointment for the second signoff on Friday. ^_^ ***hug***

Where might that happen? Locally, or will there be a voyage involved?

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited

@porsupah locally, 2 blocks from my house.

I was talking to one of my partners last night about how amazing it is that when i first came out and sought HRT/medical transition, there were 3 people in all of canada that i could see.

Now theres one down the street. Fucking. Wild.

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited

@eclectic Oh, /wow!/ Can't get much better than that. =:D Even only a year or two ago, a friend in Vancouver had to fly to/from *Montreal* - now, folk there have a local venue too. ^_^

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited

@porsupah oh! Sorry! I can get a letter from a psychiatrist and a physician locally.

GRS Montreal is the only place in canada that actually does it.

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited

@eclectic Oh! I thought Vancouver had its own such clinic now, in the last year or so. Haven't been following the topic, though, so I could be quite mistaken.

Not that it'd be much of a different journey for you, unless you wind up shimmying westward at some point. ^_^

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited

@porsupah maybe i might just scoot that way xD. At least, I hope to.

I also dont pay that much attention to the day to day changes to the medical system here. I'm too focused on other issues, and dont want to dwell on it too much.

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited

@eclectic yessssss!!!!!

@eclectic HOLY SHIT NICE πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

@miramira heh thanks! Its been a long time coming and doesnt quite feel real.

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited, updates

@eclectic Woohoo! ***hug*** Any idea what their waiting list's like?

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited, updates

@porsupah sometime between 6 months to a year from when i can get them all the paperwork and stuff.

That's really weird to type xD

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited, updates

@eclectic Oh, wow. =:D So, maybe sometime from May-Nov 2022?

It's a lot to come to terms with, ne? (In a very, *very* good way) I'm still digesting it myself.. this'll mean I'll be added to the list, and at some point, one of the surgeons of my choice will be in touch for a consultation. Providing we can come to an agreement on weight loss, I'd presumably then get scheduled.

Ugh, though, the recovery! That's not going to be huge fun. *And* dilation, three times a day! =:P (Initially, at least)

But.. oh, gods. What a difference it'll make.. !

(Warning to folk I know: I may soon be asking you for how it all feels now vs before =:)

Transition +, aaaaa im so excited, updates

@eclectic Definitely seems to be the day for it. If I read of someone /else/ getting their referral today, I'm officially calling a holiday. =:)
