so just to keep my American friends up to date on British politics: a white Raven will now carry the ceremonial teapot of prorogation from the Tower of London to the house of lords, where the elected 'cousin of the house' will sip directly from the pot's spout to begin the second phase of prorogation.

Is this bullshit? or is just another genuine part of parliamentary procedure? There's no way of knowing. Even I am not sure...


of course, Lord Bagtart has caused constitutional outrage by suggesting he may refuse to sing all three verses of the proroguing ballad when the raven is rubbed on the Erskine May before being sent back.
