"...lots of men write fanfic too... they can get away with calling it “homage,” or “public domain,” or “licensed work,” and get on with their bad selves. Maybe more importantly, the world calls it all those things.
Fuzzy Nation? Fanfic. Wicked? Fanfic. Every X-Men comic written since Claremont stopped? Fanfic. Your beloved Hamilton? Real-person fanfic. Songfic, even."

He also wouldn’t let me not talk to him. Like if I walked by, in his eyes I have to engage with him. Once he even barged into my room when I was trying to leave for class and started yelling at me. I had to freaking yell at him to leave me alone and basically broke down when I got to class. So, not good memories. So the fact that this guy my brother brought over reminded me of him set off my alarm bells in my head.

So my younger brother and his college roommate brought a friend to thanksgiving. He’s from South Carolina so yay them being good friends. But he’s skeeved me out the entire time. I couldn’t figure out why at first, but it dawned on me that he reminds me of this guy who would never leave me alone in college. Like we were friends with the same people but he was always. fucking. There. I would avoid leaving the room unless I knew he wasn’t in the common room outside my door.
