Hereditary (2018), Midsommar (2019), (no spoilers), anxiety
i feel like i should watch and have a curiousity about Hereditary and Midsommar. but they're both horror movies with the goal of scaring you intensely. i don't really like being scared intensely because i often already am for various reasons. i do however have an appreciation for cinematic artistry. so idk.
Midsommar (2019), no spoilers
so i watched Midsommar (theatrical cut) and it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. that said it was still incredibly thrilling. the cinematography is absolutely brilliant, it's gloriously unconvetional at times, which is so refreshing to see. the set design is totally gorgeous and the acting is top notch. Florence Pugh is incredibly good at crying. i'm very glad i watched the theatrical cut because it probably would've been even more unhealthy to sustain such a high blood pressure for another half an hour more. i'm very glad that i can calm down now.
Midsommar (2019), no spoilers, trauma
a little detail i appreciated was how Dani's houseplants were severely neglected after her trauma
