Adults with ADHD feel guilty asking for certain accommodations or resources.
Adults with ADHD feel guilty for needing to take medicine to function "normally".
Adults with ADHD feel shame for not functioning the same way they believe "everyone else" does.
Adults with ADHD feel shame for needing to find creative new ways to work with their brain.
It can be debilitating, and therapists should recognise this, and work together with such adults to identify and overcome these feelings.
