The seventh annual international Gender Census 2020 is now open until 12th March!
It's for anyone whose genders (or lack thereof) aren't described by the M/F binary. It's short and easy, and the results are useful in academia, business and self-advocacy.
Mentor: *zipping ahead making data structures and gameplay and so forth so fast I can barely keep up*
Me: Um... I have this variable I wanna' make, but something needs to hold it. What do I do? D:
(I swear I'm normally an excellent coder. :P )
The Meditations game launcher is such a cool idea! It provides a different 5-minute (or less) game every day for a year (then loops). All abstract and wordless. The first two games have been interesting, and I'm keen to see them all.
You know when someone gets into an awesome sexual situation you can only *dream* of, and you ask them how they do it and their answer is always unsatisfying/unhelpful?
I've now been on the other side of that, and I've discovered the answer is they don't actually know. No one knows. It happens by coincidence and luck. Actually *trying* probably makes it *less* likely. :P
I was always so relieved to find a workplace that accepted that I'm autistic and have ADD. But now I realise they're only accepting as long as it's convenient. Like, if there are loud noises, they'll suggest I go work in the quiet meeting room, but if I use my phone to clear my brain between tasks, they assume I am being less productive and will tell me to stop. They still expect work to look the same for everyone. :(
Burnout, feeling lost
Me: I'm burning out and need a few fewer hours.
Work: Uh, we can only let you do a *lot* fewer hours, or not at all. Or, uh, help you find a new job, I guess?
My brain now: I suddenly don't know what to do with my life. I've always been a full-time coder, but now that's not working. What do I even do? D:
